Title: Checking In
Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: PG13
Pairings: Implied Dean/Sam
Type: Light Humor, Drabble
Episode Reference: Somewhere in the 2nd half of season 4. It really doesn’t have to be specific for this fic.
Word Count: 308
Summary: Castiel isn’t exactly sure why Dean is so annoyed at having his dessert interrupted.
A/N: I’m more of a Castiel/Dean fan myself, but the idea hit so I thought I’d type it out. I’m also trying to get a good feel for the characters because I have a longer story idea I’d like to write out, if I find the time. So you might see more Supernatural oneshots in the future.
Also, I don’t really read a lot of fanfiction, but if anyone has any good Supernatural recs (whatever pairing, or even gen fic is fine) they want to send my way, I’d be interested in taking a look.
Checking In
Deciding to check up on Dean and his brother Sam, Castiel popped over to their current temporary residence. Castiel didn’t really understand why Dean didn’t like the instant travel so customary for angels like himself. It was quick and much more convenient than driving a vehicle or walking.
But none of that really mattered, in any case. He was there, in the hotel room... but... Castiel looked curiously at the empty cans of pie filling and cans of whipped cream by the bed where Dean and Sam were currently...
“Why are you licking food off your brother?” Castiel asked.
Both of the brothers started, and Dean sat up straight from where he was kneeling over Sam and glared balefully at Castiel.
“Can’t you just knock like a normal person?” Dean asked in annoyance. Sam, for his part, put an arm over his eyes, looking more than a little embarrassed.
“I’m not a normal person,” Castiel said matter-of-factly. Dean opened his mouth then shook his head, looking frustrated and slightly embarrassed now as well.
“Whatever. Just... now’s not really a good time, if you get what I’m saying?” Dean gave him a look that Castiel was sure was supposed to mean something, but he wasn’t the best at reading these emotional facial expressions so common to humans.
“We can talk while you eat,” Castiel said, looking at Sam and his naked, pie filling covered body.
“No, we can’t!” Dean snapped in a low tone. “Come back in an hour!”
Castiel stared at Dean for a moment, then decided that coming back later would be the best option. Not because Dean demanded it. Rather, it would just be better to discuss important matters when Dean wasn’t so agitated and preoccupied with his food.
“I will return in exactly one hour,” he said; and, as quickly as he’d appeared, Castiel left.
