Methinks that we need more power in the machine room
Someone has recently installed several Terabytes of disk with appropriate tape backup in our machine room.
Apart from overloading the air conditioning it is slightly abusing the power supply in the room.
Our electrician directed me to touch the ducting where the spur went under the floor to the distribution board. Feeling that it was fairly warm, I pried the cover back and touched the cables behind.
It was as hot as a cup of coffee after a couple of minutes. 30amp cable should not get that hot for long periods of time.
