Rachael and I have "adopted" a stray cat! He's been around the apartment complex for a while now, and we just assumed he had owners somewhere around here. Several months ago he stopped by for a brief while after showing up on our 3rd story balcony (cats are crazy). He ate some food, left, and all was good. Last week, though, he stopped by our place again, we fed him, and he just did not want to leave. Finally we convinced him to go out on the balcony when we were doing some errands and for the night while we were sleeping. In the morning, however, he was still there! We found out later that he had been living in the woods behind our complex for at least a month or so, so we decided to take him in on a potentially permanent basis. The only real caveat is if he doesn't like the place, or doesn't like Rachael's cats who will be moving in soon. Then we'll take him to a shelter so's he can find a good home. Hopefully, though, we'll get to keep him, even if is a food-grubbing, begging cat!
The cat always wants food and meows most piteously at me every time I go into the kitchen, even if he just ate! It's a bit annoying and hard to ignore when he jumps up on the counter right in the middle of the yakisoba I was preparing! /tosses the cat off the counter. He's gotten a bit better over time, but he still begs constantly! Hopefully he'll realize that he's never going to be out of food here and will stop begging for human food! The crazy cat has eaten potato chips straight out of the bag, dry spaghetti noodles, pizza (everything but the crust) though on one occasion JUST the crust, and even alfredo! One rather amusing moment was when the cat got a hold of a white cheddar kettle chip and was eating it in a most voracious manner. Every few seconds he'd stop and kind of dry-heave, which can't have been pleasant, but he'd just keep eating the chip when he was done! Weird-ass cat!
Anyway, we named him Alfredo, or Fredo for short, as he was so excited about eating the alfredo that he got splatters of noodles on his face, ear, and sides! I wish I had pictures of that, but I don't. I DO, however, have a few pictures of the kitty being cute. So, here, have a look!
