I had the opportunity to go up to Shawnigan Lake on Sunday, and I took it... I haven't been up there in years!!! It was great!
See our my parent's friend/landlord's family owns property on the lake, and renovations have been pretty much completed since I was last there. Wow, things have changed so much.. God, the kids are freakin' teenagers! Taryn's pretty much a young woman now, and Jeremy's voice has changed since I last saw him. :P It was cute, he's such a typical 13-year-old, asked me so many questions he really didn't want to hear the answer to and replied with "Ewww..." to all of them. Oh, yeah, you can guess what about. (I usually had to repeat myself because I was being purposely vague, but Jer's friend caught on *very* quickly and hopefully elaborated to him later...)
I got suckered into staying the night when my parents went home, and I played hide-and-seek with Jeremy and his friend (who also stayed the night), Taryn, and a friend of hers from work. *sigh* I love memories like this, hide-and-seek was my favourite game growing up. We all ran around and had a bit of fun. There were video games, and the lake of course. I had a sleep-over with Jeremy and his friend in the TV room. I love feeling like a kid again, it's a different kind of fun. Somehow more innocent or something.
It's great being an adult (technically?) and being able to go out and dance or have sex and drink, or whatever... But, I really do miss being a kid and going up to the lake, or running around at night, having sleep overs, whatever. I mean, yeah, I stay over at my friend's places from time to time, and we run around having a great time.... But, that's really, really not the same, even if we did the exact same thing. Having irritating 13-year-olds around makes things interesting.
:P
I really just lounged around on the wharf all day today.. Jeremy's friend went home, and he spent most of the day at his other friend's place. Taryn was cool to talk to, now that she's 17, and not afraid of kooties or whatever.
