The episode of
hitRECord TV is out with my words contributed to the monologue. That's them in the graphic: "...this is the Other Side... and when we complete our hero's journey we get to go home." The episode is called "The Other Side" and I posted
a story about a recurring dream I had as a kid, for realz, and why that dream made me be a spiritual searcher until I heard a theory that made sense of the dream and what I felt about life.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt himself read my words, which makes them the most powerful I've written for performance to-date! I love him, loved him as a kid actor (A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, THIRD ROCK FROM THE SON), as a teenager and early 20's actor (BRICK, THE LOOKOUT), to his late 20's early 30's (he's 33) and his own writing and production (INCEPTION, LOOPER, DARK KNIGHT RISES, 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, DON JON). So it's so very awesome to have this tiny cool thing as part of my career!
Plus I get $261 as a contributor, which makes the rate for each word something like $15! Wait -- what? How do I get money you ask? It's the cool thing about JGL's creative collaboration site! You register so they know who contributes what. When anything is monetized -- and they've published books, DVDs, now they have this TV series -- they use complicated algorithms to allot revenue to all contributors. And just in case you didn't think JGL was cool enough, he doesn't take payment (though he is far and away the most involved contributor and performer) and instead plows his portion back into the upkeep of the site.
I plan to buy the DVD of season of hitRECord TV when it's available.
You can download and watch episodes thru
Amazon or the Apple Store.
