Trip Planned & Booked: SEATTLE!!
I'm so stoked, and long to be there already to get away from these Austin 104 degree days with no humidity and lots of shredding wind. Seattle, baby! (hmmm, doesn't work so well as saying, "Las Vegas, baby!") Seattle, where their current summer weather is like a light day in winter for us!
Staying in the Four Sisters' inn called The Inn at Harbor Steps. Which is catty-corner from the SAM (Seattle Art Museum) and two blocks from Pike Place Market and not far from ferry landings and the Elliott Bay. I am hard, hard core on art museums. Also pretty unexhaustible about science museums (like my higher education: BFA won out over a double major of zoology and fine art). There are cheaper places to stay, but I wanted to be right downtown because I want to walk, trolley or taxi to all the touristy stuff. Like Seattle Underground!
Wonder if I can find any good coffee there? :->
A few friends had thought they might join me, but since that seems to have fallen through, I'm doing the Wendy thing. I'll travel by myself and have a grand time! Love it that the inn is like a British hotel where you have a massively protein rich breakfast free every morning. That sets me up for the whole day, and it's right in the building.
Need to go to the Seattle Space Needle. Didn't think I wanted to, but my brother dearly wishes for a shot glass from there. So, okay.
Will love going to the EMP and Science Fiction Museum! And the food! Lots of organic and locally harvested and grown delicious food!
