My youth pastor's daughter raught our thursday lesson one week. She called it "Let's Share Dessert." How does that have anything to do with church? Well, let's think about it. Have you ever shared a dessert with a friend and gotten upset, because they are taking more than their own share, and leaving you only a little bite at the end? It's happened to me. And even if it hasn't happened to you in particular, I'm sure you would be upset if someone did do that to you.

Now, take that and imagine how God feels about what you are sharing with Him. When you become Born Again, you make a deal with God to share your life with Him. How do you think he feels when you spend all your life without giving him a thought, enjoying it and relishing in it without Him? And then at the end of the day, you give Him a little, "Oh, and thank you, God, forgive me of my sins, goodnight." Wouldn't that upset you if you were in His place? God saved your soul, and you can't even share you life with Him. That's not the way sharing dessert is supposed to go, is it?

So, what can you do to have a better relationship with God? For starters, share your "dessert" with Him. Share your life! Take Him ith you wherever you go, remember to let Him always be a part of what is happening. Make sure that you are giving Him His whole share, which, in truth, should be all of you. God deserves true devotion and time, not just five minutes at the end of the day. Praise His name. Talk to Him. He is always right there waiting for you to "pass Him the fork."
