(no subject)
So since I'm a wild wacky spur of the moment girl I randomly went to NY this week with some out of town friends. :)
It was a really fun time, I'd never really explored the city at all. I think I'd been in NY maybe three times; all but one of which was a "while transferring to something else, so no real time to meander". It's a cool city but I think I'm glad, in the end, that I don't live there; that the brightness and color won't ever dull for me. :)
So one of the (many) coolest things we did was totally random; we were looking for a place to eat dinner and wandered into this unassuming looking Stardust Diner, just a bit off Broadway I think. I was just expecting milkshakes and burgers and instead I felt like I was walking into a Glee episode, all the servers are Broadway hopefuls and they sing and dance for you in between bringing your food. It was so awesome!
Another awesome thing was we went to a speakeasy, the atmosphere was really fun; there was almost no signage outside, just a grouchy guy with his arms crossed in front of a black door. You really had to know it was there, and once you got all settled (busboys banging your water glasses down in a surly fashion) there was this ridiculously complex drink menu with so many cocktail combinations, all strong, all delicious. :) I emasculated both of the boys by drinking them under the table, then finishing their drinks, then destroying Johnny in arm wrestling. Hooray!
