Since I'm not allowed to post on Jux, I have no choice but to put this here.
With all the WoW features that have gone up recently centered around Keni and Graeme, I have felt somewhat left out. Which is fine. I mean, it's not like I'm in their guild...or made them Squirrels, or even play that game. Yep. I'm happy that I'm so loved and popular in WoW to the point where I don't even play it anymore. I also love how I'm not a member of Jux even though I make more features than some people who are. Yep, Thanks everyone.
Vivi!!! It is depressing that you never play WoW. It is so much funner when you are there! Also, I consider you a Juxer, even though its technically against a rule that I had no say in creating, and that a few of us have tried to overturn. And now, directed at the picture, thats still to rigid. A totally hat is soft and flexible. At least in/on my head it is.
I also love how I'm not a member of Jux even though I make more features than some people who are.
I'm making more lately! But I guess that's not exactly what you're getting at.
I thought we had an informal rule that after a while, we could have a conference and decide if someone could be upgraded to Jux status. I think there was also another informal rule that stated that it would have to be some other title, like Staff Writer, or something similar. Something about maintaining the core founders. I also think there was another informal rule about not having girlfriends in Jux. I did not (write/informulate?) this rule.
I also think we need a friggin' informal rulebook.
The ORIGINAL rules, before we created staff writers, were as follows:
1. Anyone can submit a guest feature, and any one member of Jux can approve the guest feature, although generally if one of us doesn't like it, none of us will.
In practice, this rule as tended to mean send your guest features to Crossed Reality, as Kenny tells people to do so to avoid having to tell them no, because he's a big softy.
2. After submitting an undetermined amount of features, any guest author can be promoted to a member of the Jux Entente by a unanimous vote in a caucus of Jux members.
Self explanatory.
3. No one romantically involved with a member of the Jux Entente may become a staff member.
The reasons for this rule are many and varied, and have been explained before to anyone who wants to ask.
Later, when it was decided that the original three would be the only true Jux Entente members, the "staff writer" designation was created for others who joined.
A rule book has always been on my list of things to do, but there aren't really that many, and there are a few "rule sets" floating around. Like the one Kenny quoted when we were making Jux 2.0 to show me that I had broken one of my own rules on two occassions in the making of features.
I wish we still had comments on the older features. I was going to paste when you said "Regular webcomics? No way that is going to happen."
Or, "Blogs are the devil!"
Also, looking back on some of the stuff I got so bent out of shape on, a lot of it I would have laughed at had it happened now. Some stuff I was justifiably upset at, but a lot of it was mmm, mmm, latent teen angst.
I still dislike (most) blogs. Not only that, but I especially loathe the fact that nowadays, every single website on the planet is considered a "blog."
I didn't mean you, Rosetree. I meant Sam and Laurie. Thery're both members on the member page with their own icons, and even editing privilages. All I'm asking for is my own icon. I don't need staff access to the site, and all my crap wouild still go through you guys, and I wouldn't be posting on Jux itself, that's what this place is for. I just want there to be a personal image for me to have when I do submit a feature, in order to tell it apart from the others' in that rare ocsasion when somone else does a guest feature.
You dislike PvP, and we made a feature about raiding Brill...wha?
Also, you were in the WoW photography feature, but not as much as we wanted. We waited for you, but you were talking to Joey about being rammed in this ass by a fat guy, remember?
The reason Why I over-react....ghostcandyApril 14 2005, 09:08:01 UTC
I was going to post this here, but it turned out to be too long. So, read it here if you want an explaination for my actions. I didn't mean to upset you Travis and Graeme. (or Keni) http://www.livejournal.com/users/ghostcandy/15050.html
Saturday sounds awesome, Val. Maybe we can watch the Jason movies, or Breeders. And more dip pizza? Or, just regual kind? I have ice-cream too, and we can complain about stuff we don't like, and make fun of stuff we do. It'll rock.
Again, sorry to everyone for having to listen to me be an ass-vent. It's just people in my life always would team up against me. I swear there's like a club. I'm just afraid of it happening again....or..more, really, since it still happens from my family and ex-bosses, crapex-boyfriends,and ex-pals. I'm lucky to have people that actually care about me, I'm just not used to it. So my brain sometimes goes haywire and tries to do a sort of bombshelter thing.(Like those crazy Americans that keep jugs of water and space food in their basement in case of Y2k_strikes back)
