Where to start. XD

Your welcome? JT is my favorite anime also, and I'd appreciate any help. I googled "animeclipse" since you didn't give a link. It's all in.. syrillic? Russian? I can't tell. XD

Also, I'm not Japanese. I'm not in Japan. I'm in Ohio, USA.

My files were created by a really complex recipe of copy and re-copy. Laserdisc was recorded to VHS, VHS was then recorded to DVD, DVD was ripped to my computer. So I have no idea what all that wonderful encoding gobbledy-gook you gave me would mean to my crappy files.

I only own the first two Laserdiscs. I had borrowed all the others from someone, but I could probably get them again somehow.

I have no clue how to hook up my computer to my LD player (or even if I can!) or any of my other electronics. I'm basically a total noob.

It took me five years to get from having the LDs, to getting them on the net. My project was never about perfect quality. It was just about getting the series ON the net to try and get a fansub company interested in it.

If you can give me some pointers, I will do anything to help. Heck, if it would work better, I'd just SHIP the LDs to someone who knows what they're doing. XD

So do you have all (39) episodes? We're interested about Jura Tripper, if so we're going to make a project on english, greek subs.

Please create a msn account so we could communicate.

I have all 39 episodes in a littler better quality than my file, on DVD. I own the first two LDs, and can get the others if needed. Let me know, I'm thrilled you're interested in JT. (I also have a handful of devoted friends who are fans, who will want to see it too!)

Hi. I am Nick7LF. AnimeClipse is a greek Fansub Group but we also put english subs if needed. We are extremenly interested in JT.
1) If you have dvds please upload some ISOs.
2)If you have LDs, you can connect the LD player with your TV, then connect your TV to pc and rip it in hiqh quality.

If you turn LDs in VHS you lost almost all the quality, since LDs is way better than VHS and a bit worse than DVDs.

Create an msn account, so I can explain you better.

Hi, this is Left64Vegeta, also a member of the AnimeClipse fansubbing group.

I must admit that it is the first time I ever hear about Laserdiscs. I've done a little research around the net, and I even came across Windows 3.11 drivers for laserdiscs. What hardware do you have? What model? Does it have any serial ports? Any AV output jack? Maybe there is a way to directly connect it to PC.

As for the current quality:
The VHS intermediate introduced a great data loss.
The DVD intermediate introduced a frame Telecine (23.976 to 29.97)
The old and insufficient MPEG-1 compression introduced lots of compression artifacts, blockings, and detail loss.

Our primary concern should be to find a neat way to connect the Laserdisc to PC, if possible, and get its data as intact as possible. A lossless compression of that data (Huffyuv, Lagarith, or even x264 in very high bitrates) could provide a clean source to the editing stage, and improve the results.

Our site, http://www.animeclipse.com/ is mostly in Greek. But, we do feature an english section, for non-Greek visitors. Here's the link:

Looking forward to hearing from you.
