So, yes i's been awhile since I've been around! I do apologize but you all were better off without me, just trust that one.
I have made some changes to my life - including 4 pickup truck loads of stuff being 25% given to Goodwill or ex's mom and 75% trashed. The garbage men picked up the old sectional today I threw out and now I have *space*! Blessed space. I love it. Not completely done by any means because the back is still a crap heap (carport got cleaned-out though) and I have to go through drawers and cabinets and papers, etc.
But I *did* it. I finally gave up on waiting around for him to wake up and take care of his crap because I realized that he didn't even when he *did* live here! So the only one standing in my way of a clutter-free home, was me. Soon as I realized that - BOOM! I spent the last month of weekends tossing like a boss. :)
I moved my desk out of the living room where it never got used for anything other than 'surface we throw stuff on to deal with that nebulous "later date"' and into my bedroom. Which gives me privacy to write without my 8-year-old all over me. She's doing great, btw. All A's and B's in school. :)
Fandom always keeps me sane - I mentally live in the Marvel Universe with a side of Game of Thrones and a few random shows. The Blacklist is my favorite non-sci fi show hands down. I also watch "Reign" for the pretty. Doesn't replace "Merlin" though. *Sniff*
I am still employed at the same place, too. I had my one-year anniversary in February so now I accrue actual vacation time. I moved from the job I applied for in admin to being handed a position as a "manager" to agents in Canada. It's interesting but I have learned over this past year that I really dislike sitting on my ass. Sure paperwork and computer work is necessary but I would like to find a job that doesn't require it 100% of the workday. The declutter had to come first, though. I have cosplay plans, too (Winter Soldier) but I couldn't ever get motivated to even see how well my sewing machine works with no un-cluttered flat surface to work with and stuff seemingly everywhere!
So that's where I am. I will endeavor to update daily, even if it's boring. Because it's still writing and that is a desire that may get beaten down and bloodied but never seems to actually go away.
