For my english class we had to read this essay by Octavio Paz...
that mofo published his first book when he was 17... he's too good, ne needs to die.. umm i think that already happened,
well yeah anyways, the essay is named "the art of the fiesta"
and the way that mr.paz described the meaning of it, was very interesting,
well he said that it its our way to go back to re-creation, the opossite of recreation, where everyone is the same and there are no barriers between the servants and the gentlemen.
where the people leave society and go back to their naturally chaotic state. its their escape from reality.
so yeah it was a cool point of view. he also relates it to the mexican culture, u know mexicans are big time partiers. actually mexican people are the ones that have "fiestas" the most, there is where the income goes. and the reason for that is to make it up for their poverty, if they are going to be hard workers for their entire lives, then they are going to be really happy and careless about the world at least one night a month. it is interesting how that was realated to society..
