(That G stands for Goodness, to avoid blasphemy :-) )
My lack of updates this week (seriously, since Monday?) does not reflect slack-liness nor apathy on my part, LJ, it reflects that I've been so gosh darn busy I have to make sacrifices in my life somewhere. I had a presentation/leading discussion in Religious Fundamentalisms about women in Islam on Thursday, and a rough draft of my paper due that same day, same class. I stayed up until 4 am...technically Thursday morning, I suppose, not Wednesday evening, which is a new record for me. For only eight pages, though! She wanted a full draft, not a partial one, so I followed my paper all the way through but...left stuff out at the end, idc that much, it's only a rough draft :-p The discussion went really well, at least
The rest of the week was actually pretty good, as I reflect, despite being hella busy. Lit Club on Tuesday - Patrick Henry paid us a visit, I was delighted to see him and it was like a taste of retro-English Club again. So that was an awesome change of pace for our meeting, and he joined us for dinner afterward and we had fun times there too. And while we're not having a meeting this coming week (because our break starts...at 10 pm Tuesday, but really, who's sticking around :-p), the week after that we're having a miniature coffee/study break party. Which will essentially be a regular meeting but with fewer things to do and more caffeine consumed.
Thursday was also excellent. It was our night for the Thanksgiving dinner, the international students got a table together and made for awesome company. The food was nice, I enjoyed pumpkin pie for the first time ever :-p But it wasn't about the food, it was about getting together and having fun with lovely people, and being in a fun atmosphere and campus-wide event that makes me really happy. Plus, it snowed! A lot, huge snowflakes, all that evening. So pretty :-) And I woke up to the entire world campus blanketed in white this morning.
This morning I had Hebrew and Greek back-to-back, which was a serious trip man :-p But now...I'm free. Hebrew quiz Monday whenever I feel like taking it, and one more class of Religious Fundamentalisms to sit through on Tuesday, but I essentially am already on Thanksgiving break. Which is super-awesome; I caught up on ANTM and Desperate Housewives today to celebrate. And did laundry to celebrate too :-p I called my family tonight, as usual, and it was wonderful talking to them. And on Thanksgiving I'll get to talk to all my cousins too, very excited. And very wholesome :-p You know what else I've missed this week? Reading. I will do that tonight, and every other day through the rest of my break. Yes :-)))
