Ugh, I have to be up in, oh, 7 hours? 7.5? to go on our Shakespeare field trip. I will have fun, I am sure, but I am really just unadventurous :-p
Today was excellent though, for classes and everything. It's really cool, we're working on Mark 2 right now; it starts off with Jesus healing the paralytic and forgiving his sins. And at the end of it, it says "he was raised up and took his mat and went out," with the raised (egerthe, since you were wondering) as a passive. None of the English translations Dr Martin read to us (in those comparative Bible thingies, yeah?) even picked up on that, they all said, he rose and took his mat and went out. But guys, that is significant and subtle and cool :-p All y'all Biblical translators suck, I'm writing a Linzi version of the Bible where we get these sort of things right
Hebrew was good too, we're just learning more vocab and a little bit of grammar, but I like how things are coming together so far. And I've been chugging along on Anathem. Even though I am damned unhappy, my fav character just got killed :-p I expect nothing less than a full-body resurrection within the next three hundred pages, Neal Stephenson. But still, wonderful stuff. I've also made a sort-of decision that maintaining a "top 5" list for the year is simply too difficult, and I'll supply you all with a "top 10" list, oh, once I get finished with Anathem (which will probably make the top five anyway, so no worries :-p)
I am going to sleep, wish me luck in DC tomorrow :-p
