So it begins

Welcome to my treehouse!

What better way to start than with something that has been bothering me of late: People are bad drivers.  Common courtesy has been cleaned off the roads by the street sweeper.  Turn signals have gone the way of the dinosaur.  Everybody is in a hurry to get nowhere three seconds faster.  Come on, do we really think we are saving that much time by driving more aggressively downtown?!  If you're driving from Brooklyn to Phoenix, you'll save some time, but if you're driving from your house to the bank?  Let's get serious.

Perhaps my biggest peeve as of late has been the people who are behind you, in the lane beside you.  There is no one else in either of your lanes.  The other guy/gal speeds up and passes you and then turns right in front of you.  Huh??  Did we save a bunch of time there?  Did we boost our ego?  What's the deal?  He/she couldn't have gone behind us?  Sheesh.

People, the world is crazy enough without us driving like fools.  If we really want to live in a more peaceful world, we should start making peace where we are.  The road is as good a place as any.  Let someone else go first.  Use your turn signal.  Don't blow a gasket when someone cuts you off.  Mellow out a little bit.

In related news, Jay Leno reported last night that the smell of fast food in the car increases the likelihood of road rage.  Leave the Big Mac at home.

Keep Climbin',
