Jirke wasn't able to stay concious for most of the trip. He was sore and broken. He thinks he could even see where his knee poked out of the skin. That bothered him but intrigued him at the same time. The nurse from before tended to his every need, and he began to enjoy her company. He watched her patch him up, and he could tell she was using Essence to heal him. Lucky me. Jirke thought. If they saw the rate that I'd have healed that anyway, I'd be sunk. They'd kill me right here. Jirke lay his head back down from observing his injuries, and began to think of ways that he could get out of this. He was feeling much better, and the ship would dock at Chiaroscuro soon...He was told he'd be fully recovered by then. He just had to make it a point not to let them know he was a Solar. He tried sitting up and cried out in pain. Something in his gut wrenched, and he vomited over the side of the bed. The nurse came rushing into the room, and she went to him. Jirke was much too tired to answer any of her questions, but refused to lie down.
"I have to leave!" He shouted.
"You are delirious! Please, stop struggling, you will be all right!"
"I've got to get out of here! Let me go!"
"I don't want you to hurt yourself! Please, don't make me use force!"
Jirke continued his struggling, and she struck him across the face, and he was asleep until that night.
......
When he awoke, he didn't move. He felt the welt on his face the nurse had left, and he wondered when the swelling would go down. His cheek was on fire. He stood, keeping any noises he made to himself. He had to get out of there, half-dead or not. He snuck up to the top deck, and located the escape ship. He ended up easing the boat into the water and not making any noise at all...until he began to paddle. All of a sudden, the whole boat was awash with light, and all of the crew was preparing to take Jirke's little craft down. Cannons began to fire at him, and he rowed frantically, cursing the whole way.
"As soon as I get to fucking shore, I'm going to take a long vacation. Get out of this place, get some sleep, take somebody's caravan, and go somewhere where nobody can bother me. Maybe go West, I hear it's nice there...this is the worst night of my life."
