I love seeing myself on the internet!! Jer and Glenn included too!!

Nov 04, 2005 21:42

Anyway I'm a member of boardgamegeek.com and have often submitted pictures to the web including one from my birthday party back in June. The pic features Jeremy, Glenn, Eric and I playing a pirate game called Pluder. Another memeber put it up on a "geeklist" and the following was said. I thought it was funny and that some people might enjoy it. The actual site is here you just have to scroll down to item number 15. Anyway hope people might find it funny.

In our house we try to break with stereo-typical geek tradition and
invite the girls to play. All this picture is missing is one the girls
barefoot in the kitchen, pregnant and bringing pizza and beer to the
table.

Actually
my wife took the picture and she was standing in the kitchen to do it
and we don't wear shoes in the house so she was barefoot, the pizza was
on the coffee table behind my friend in the white shirt, and if you
notice the baby in the picture he was about 7 months so you were close
with the pregnant part.

Oh
yeah sure! Admit it. You guys are playing in a dorm lobby and those
girls in the background are laughing at all the geeks playing some
weird game.....

Yes,
but who can identify all the games on the left foreground that the
barefoot-pregnant-beer&pizza-bringing girls don't get to play?

Actually,
to accurately reproduce truly stereotypical geek tradition, there
cannot be a female of any species within 200 yards of the playing
surface.

hehehhe, nice work Zack.

I must admit, I have looked at this picture a few times, I was
deliberating whether to buy Plunder or not, and I was using the pic to
study how the lay out looked during a game, (does anyone else do this
before buying? I think its a great asset to be able to see how the
board plays, I love pics like Zacks). Anyway, to cut a long story
short, my wife looked at it and said "dont buy that game, the girls
obviously think its stupid and the guy in the white shirt sure looks
like he's having fun".
I bought it anyway, thanks to 'Zacks Picture'.

I
just can't help but admire the grombahs of someone who would hang a
LOTR poster smack dab in the middle of the living room. Although I have
all the movie posters up in my living room it isn't something you see
very often
