i really hate looking for jobs. if you know me you know i hate the process. the resumes, ties, interviews, callbacks, pressure, stress, work, just about everything
i wish i could just show up and be like "look foo, im right for this shit, pay me already"
anyway, i've lagged on this entry. so i've had a few interviews, (some with older black females, which as J9 knows are gonna love me 9 times out of a dime, i mean dont let em interview me if you dont want me at your school. j/k!!!) but seriously it has been going well. I already signed a contract with LAUSD as a whole guaranteeing me a job with any of the 4 districts i can teach in.
a few schools have wanted me to come back for phase 2 of the interview, which includes teaching a mini-lesson. I never called back 1 school, cos I wasn’t really interested there, and I could’t really find a partner to work with (we have to be hired with at least one other UCLA person) I did go back to teach a lesson at 75th st. My guiding teacher gave me a really good English Language development lesson, so I taught it, and it went realllly well.
So the good news is I was offered the job, and supposedly hes writing up an official offer letter and starting the paper work. 75th st. elem. Is in the heart of District I. Kinda south.central/ south la./ watts, right off of broadway and main, inbetween Florence and Manchester, so still not to far from my future koreatown apt. blah blah blah, im sure I will tell you all this and more when I see you.
So hopefully my short job search is over. The position would start JULY 1st. crazy!!!!!!!
Im not sure what grade though, something between 3-5, my choice really.
Oh yeah, I also say MEAN GIRLS. It was pretty funny at times, overall good. Tina Fey (SNL) wrote it afterall
My dad and I changed my brakes, we waited to long, so now my rotor is all scratched. We did a good job, saved a lot of money by doing it ourselves, but I got so oily, like my hair had all this car and brake oil in it, it was hard to shampoo out. Oh well, it felt good to fix it myself for some reason.
But……… we broke some small spring on one side, and we thought it would be ok. Flashforward, yesterday on the freeway my tire makes this crazy sound of 2 minutes, then it stops. Weird, but it just went away. I seriously thought it was a flat so I started to pull over. Then today it started again on my way home, so I pull into Mc Donalds. I notice one of the pins in the brake is missing, the other is bent halfway out. I get scared and speed home, hoping my brake doesn’t give out or fall off. I take out the tire, see how close it was to coming off and praise the person upstairs. I go to 2 auto stores, with the bent pin, but the fools don’t know what part im talking about, even though I show it to them. I wait for 30 minutes as they fumble around in the back and still come back empty handed. I then proceed to a 3rd store, the guy says he doubts they have it, then I say let me see the screen, and I say can you just check “this one for me”. He goes back, and la di da, he finds the kit I need. Shits only 6 bucks, and hes surpised he has it. He says the people at the other store are morons. Thank the lord for AUTOZONE. I got my part in 5 minutes, but it took about an hour in the setting dark sun to finally get it all onto both brakes. But now its all done and my car is working.
I just felt like writing this all
Oh well imma go watch a kung fu movie.
