#142-Dane Cook

Okay, before you get all excited, I didn't meet Dane Cook. If I had, there would be exclamation points after his name. This is just an entry about the man and myspace. So, he has a myspace profile which is pretty cool. I mean, most famous/celebrity people who have myspace profiles aren't real. At least I don't think they are. I mean, I don't have proof, but I don't think most of them would really put forth the effort, know what I mean? Anyway, you can like actually be Dane Cooks "friend" on Myspace. Of course, since it's awesome, I click on Add Friend and then this message comes up that says "Do you really want to add Dane Cook as your friend?" At first I just thought it was funny because it was asking me if I really wanted to add Dane Cook as a friend. I mean, of course I do. Who wouldn't in this day and age? People who don't like to laugh I guess. Teburculosis victims perhaps. They don't need to be laughing right now. But then I got to thinking, why does it ask that at all? Shouldn't it say, "Hey, congratulations. You're making friends and spreading goodwill about the world." Has anyone ever clicked on Add Friend and then read that and thought, "You know, maybe I really should rethink this whole adding Steve as a friend thing. That's just not where I am in my life right now. I mean, he's a good guy, but is he really friend worthy?" I don't think that's the message Myspace wants to be sending, do you?
