First of all, I hope everyone will have a Happy Easter tomorrow!

We are currently in Chicago at our Grandma's house. We arrived here very EARLY Friday morning (2 AM). Our late/earliness was the result of dodging the HUGE storm/tornado(s)/hail that went through mid-west. Quite nasty and I hear version 2 of it is going through Iowa as I speak.

We left for Chicago after my second track meet finished(I'll talk about that later on), and as we were pulling out of the town, we got held up for 10-15 minutes as a train went through. It turns out that this was a blessing from God. We had been listening to weather updates on the radio, and they said there was a tornado warning out for mile markers 230 to 250, on the interstate. We were at 229 at the time, so we pulled off at an exit at 230. It turns out, 10-15 minutes before we got off at that exit, a tornado had hit right there (!), and severe hail had landed. It was the size of the palm of your hand. So if we had not been held up by the train, we would have been in the middle of the tornado/hail mess.

Well, back to the track meet. In the 4x800, we got 2nd, my split was something around a 2:27. In the mile I got second this time, even though I got a 5:22, which is 13 seconds better then at previous meet. I guess I am going to race against the guy who beat me several more times this year. That should be good for both of us. He ended up beating me on the final 100 meter kick. In the 800 meter race, I got 3rd, with a 2:30 time. Also our team got first overall, which is really nice, since at the last meet we got edged out by another team because we got a DQ in one of the races.

In the mile, I have already beaten my personal goal for the year, which was 5:24(the time a good friend of mine got when he was in 8th grade). So, in setting my next goal, I am going to set the bar high. Now I am shooting for breaking a 5 minute mile, and getting the school record for 8th graders, which is 4:59 currently.

Well to get up the present time, yesterday we had a family bike ride along the Fox River, and after that went to a Good Friday service at my Grandma's Catholic church. After the service was over (which was really good), we went to my mom's sisters house and had dinner and hanged out.

Today we went to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, and saw the Komodo Dragon (lizard) exhibit (I’ll post pictures when we get home). I guess it is considered a land Croc, and grows up to 10 feet long. After that, we biked through Chicago gardens, and Millennium Park, featuring the GREAT bean/cloud/egg, Millennium Fountains, and outdoor theater. Currently, I am beside many a drying Easter egg, that my siblings have dyed and decorated.

Ok, enough rambling.
