but in the mean time darlin till i see ya and that big ole grin come trottin down my cracked old sidewalk with ya dress twistin side't'side with each easy stride ill be in my little garden out back juss covrin my hands with care-lina mud and sewin watermellon seeds into the earth and hoein neat little paths fcritters and mice too to take theya lil mornin walks down (cuz aftall cant even animals enjoy a nice day like us?) yes ma'am ill be on bended knee givin the dirt little gifts and after they all sewed and packd in nice ill stand up tall leanin gainst my shovel and wipe my sunburnt brow wit the backamyhand and wonder juss how long till you come wanderin back you perty lil wileflower to my garden where we can spend some days tendin to and waterin these seeds and stagger out one ju-ly mornin to fine six small shoots done poked thru the dirt to wave their small green arms at the sun and drink up all those millionsa rays he sprinkles down oh what a day that will be and what a party we'll have for em...hell we can invite the whole damn block to come celebrate the new life thats come to charlesson and what a riot itll be! whole big green salads and all kinds of drippin meats and sauces and whatever else we want to fill ah bellies and make us glad. but till that time ill be fillin my hands with a man's work and my head with crazy thoughts drivin myself mad till i co-lapse into mchair out front where i can scribble a few words down and count the blades in the grass till im dizzy and spend hours tryin ta find a consselation of stars that spells your name oh darlin, juss when will you come walkin home, oh lord,
