(no subject)
I spent another week with the 3 redneck tenors. 2 shows, 3 travel days.
The first show was in Hays, Kansas. It was the first time I have seen snow in years. Nice crew. I got to run the show through an EAW 760 rig, it sounded great. All the bars were about 20 blocks from the hotel and we were on foot. Sick and I drank at the bowling alley which was only 2 blocks away. It was college night. I think all the college kids were out at the bars, I only remember old people. Anyways, the bowling alley closed at mid-night so we caught a ride with the bar tender to bar district. He was a weird country boy and he took us to a mediocre booty club, then back to his place to dive into his liquor collection. By the time we got back to the hotel the alcohol was compensating for the cold quite nicely. I left Florida in a rush and forgot to pack accordingly. I only had one long sleeved shirt.
15 hours later we were in Kokamo, Indiana. 2 degrees outside, holy shit! Bets were made on how long it would be before a broke down and bought a jacket. So of course I had to rough it. We played at a high school - very strange. Absolutely nowhere to drink near the hotel in Kokamo, so we just made a scene in the lobby. The people at the hotel were cool about it. The only entertainment at all near the hotel was a strip club that lost their liquor license and had a 10 dollar cover. So we stuck with the hotel.
They over booked my flight from DC to Orlando, so I gave up my seat for dinner and a free round trip ticket anywhere in the states! There are so many places I need to go, I don’t even know where to start.
So now I'm back in Gainesville. I have been installing a sound system in the UA lately. It is going to rip once we get it finished.
