fun with opening lines

Nov 13, 2007 21:16

so i read this thing in mi amor josh's livejournal about opening lines and thought it'd be fun to put mine down here. a lot of my lyrics are really narrative and stuff like that, so some of these are weird without the rest of the song. and that's the origin story of this post.

"THE IN BETWEEN FEELINGS"

1. under your breath:
you're sleeping and sinking in the bedsheets

2. head in the clouds:
your head's up in the clouds, but you're waking up on the ground

4. maps that get you nowhere:
i'll find a way to make a map out of our lives

5. sideways conversations:
in the cold morning air, our breath was dancing on the dew

7. don't forget:
don't forget what a grain of sand is

8. the flowers all bleed pesticide
the flowers all bleed pesticide

9. here we go
when we sleep and dream we meet inside each other's heads

10. the in between feelings, part III:
over our heads and under the sky

11. the time it takes:
the time it takes to let go

13. (is) enough (really enough):
i'm afraid of being too tired

15. it's hard to see when you look on the bright side
it's hard to see when you look on the bright side

16. the endings are never ending
over our heads and under the sky

"HEADSPACE SLIDESHOWS"

1. headspace slideshows:
you're waiting for the world to start spinning again

2. the dust mites:
the dust mites just might be you

3. for the last time, for forever:
she said that she wanted to find all the places we'd left behind

4. harmonies:
you smile just like the moon

5. forwards, backwards (a mouth full of empty words):
forwards, forwards, third from from your mouth (you)

6. something more than i'd like to admit:
a stop sign's dented and my knuckles are bent and i don't feel better yet

7. noiseless shouting:
there's a noiseless shouting inside my head

8. the secrets in the sky:
the secrets in the sky are in the back of my mind

9. the dawn will break:
sewage drains are tomorrow's babbling brooks

10. the clipper ship in the glass bottle:
falling down in october outside of the convenience store
