My musical lethargy isn't letting up. I haven't created anything close to musical, electronic or otherwise, since the first round of the Laptop Battle. I've been thinking about it for weeks, but just haven't acted on it. Does refilling my iPod count? Didn't think so. And, for the first time in my life, I sold a piece of musical equipment. It went to a very good home, one that will use it in much better ways than I ever did.
Not that I don't have musical options; werk isn't so busy that I can't find time to work on my most recent remix project (which, by all rights, I should have done twice over by now; it's that cool). I just haven't found the inspiration. Hopefully next week I'll pull some stuff out and make some noise in
threv's basement. If you're reading this, Threv, I need to get back to you on that.
I may start to do a bit of webcasting work for my job. Doubt it'll change my status or pay rate, and knowing my boss she'll still have me doing my current job, but at least I'll be learning something new. Maybe it'll be something I can take somewhere else, because what I'm doing now sure as hell isn't getting me anywhere.
Yesterday Britt and I called in sick (we weren't), ate sushi for lunch, and wandered around Roswell for about nine hours. It was fantastic. We had every intention of going to Star Time to play pinball, but for some reason we didn't get around to it. She got more work clothes and I finally got a new phone. Nice as the iPhone is, I couldn't justify spending $399 plus AT&T's rate plan for a phone that can't even deal with MMS messages. I opted for a Samsung BlackJack and it's pretty damn perfect for my use. Nothing like a phone that's entirely customizable to your tastes, and I don't even mind using the built-in Explorer app. If it starts getting annoying, there's always Opera Mini.
Oh, and Britt and her father had a little major falling out, so we've declined the wedding cruise invitation. The tension between the two of them would have been too much to deal with on a boat for a week, so she basically told him where he could cram his cruise and we're spending Thanksgiving here. We still may get SCUBA certified, but if we do we'll just do our open dives in the Florida keys instead of the Mexican Riviera.
