Was really awesome. First of all, the activities comittee (which I am part of) put on a sweet dance, that a suprisingly huge number of people came to. And we had a visiting ward as well, where I met this really cute spunky red headed girl :p It was so fun. People started trickling in, then 2 or 3 larger groups all showed up in just a few minutes. But of course, no one was dancing, and hanging out by the walls. So, I found a cricket bat and put on a sambraro (it was a Cinco De Mayo dance) and started (gently?) whacking people into the dance floor, then turned the music up another notch. Yeah, I was the DJ. It was laughs, people loved it and actually danced. I got to do some breakdancing that night, in a battle I won, I might add. We also had a pinjata. It was great. I was in charge of operating the pole :p
And the next day, I spent being a inpromtu tour guide for the other ward that came to Monterey for the weekend and got to spend a little more time with the spunky red head Ashley at the beach. We went to the tide pools for about an hour or so, then went to Osilimar beach and played frisbee and did some swimming. And after that, we had a Barbacue down across from Dennis the menace park, at these volley ball courts. And everyone who was at the dance managed to make it for the bbq. After cooking some burgers for awhile, I managed to get someone else to cook for awhile and started playing volleyball. I haven't had so much fun in a long while.
Later that night, we had a bonfire down the beach a ways and enjoyed the scenery. It was Ashley's first time to the coast, so it was nice chilling by the fire, cuddling. After the fire, I offered to take her to where she was staying, cause we were having a good confersation. So it turned out that we got lost in Salinas untill about 2:30 am. Good times, let me tell you. Too baad she went back to her ward this morning, she was alot of fun to be around. :( Of course, I would meet her before my mission. Typical.
So, this Morning, I prepaired a talk I gave in Sacrament. It went allright, considering that I had been out late and slept most of the morning. I honestly think it was not that great, but people assured me that I did well. I was really nervous though when I was giving the talk, up untill the point where I gave my testimony. It was like all the nerves running around in my stomach just became quite, and I could tell people what I know to be true. And somehow that made my anxiety just dissapear. Honestly though, I feel more comfortalble talking on a more personal level with people, as apposed to being behind a podiem.
All in all, it was a great weekend. Now all I have on my list of things to do is get my things together for my mission, pack for my trip, get my temple recommend, then set up an appointment at the temple for when I come back from Mexico for a week. And then get my endowments. Then all I have to do is go to the MTC on the 8th, and then its down to business. Things are moving along nicely.
I do however, have three concerns about going to Georgia.
1. The Humidity. I really am spoiled by Monterey weather, and I don't like muggy, water heavy air, at least, if it's not raining. And it's not really going to be all that fun riding my bike in it.
2. Fried Food. I've been working out alot lately, trying to get more in shape, and it seems to be working. Fried food with throw it all out the window I would think. Hopefully, I won't have to eat too much of that, but it is the deep south, after all.
3. An accent. I really don't want to pick up a southern accent. I like the way I talk right now. I told one of my friends "If I come back saying thing's like All y'all & Us'ins, or anything like that, just slap me upside the head."
Well, it's getting late, and I should really get some rest. Goodnight people, I'll try and update some more before I go.
