As nice as my place is there are things that could be nicer. This evening's project-of-the-moment more or less fixed one of my disastrously awful kitchen cabinets.
Picture a fairly tall space (room for 2 or 3 drawers) with one set of rails at the bottom, but no drawer. Not even good for a box with the rails in it!
There was a random rack in there, which I mistakenly assumed was on the rails. I'd been keeping milk cartons and styrofoam trays in there as I can't be bothered to walk them the 1/8th mile to the disposal site (on a given day of the week/month? at an ungodly time in the morning). But NO MORE!
I pulled out the trash, unscrewed the rails at the front, and bent them up and back when the ones in the back proved sufficiently rusted to give no traction at all to my screwdriver, but not sufficient for simply pulling them from the wall.
I cleaned out the roach poop and rust and now I have a liquor cabinet, woot.
The random rack, thing, I cleaned up and mounted on the peg board wall behind the kitchen counter. Now it houses tea and soup on two layers with just the right space beneath for my cooking oils. Huzzah!
