Someday I need to do real work...
Today I made a sammich. Also I worked through some of Fiore's dagger plays in preparation for class. Though the CRC's closed Monday and I think Don's bringing armor and zweihanders Wednesday, so I might not get much opportunity until next Monday. It is a constant joy to me just what a homie Fiore was. Even in the relatively crappy translation I'm working off right now, his sense of joy in technique and principle comes through. And also in hurting the other bastard. It's funny how even though the longsword is far more deadly, the dagger stuff (and longsword at the constrained play) feels more brutal and damaging.
Chibi Chibi Con is next weekend, and I have nothing prepped, and I have a lot of other work to do on top of it. Erik, if you don't show ready to run some games, I'm going to destroy. Anyone else who'd like to run stuff, get in touch with me, please. I think I'm gonna run 'Joy And Sorrow' if there are enough people who haven't played it before, since I've got the book from last time. Might do a CoC one shot as well, I've got a few I could pull. I've also got some Burning Wheel con scenarios off the website, might could do those. If I get time to do real prep, SLA Industries.
I, Fiore, beg my Sir Marquis that the book be recommended because you will never find another one like it, nor you will find masters capable of such a book, and also, for the long time it took me to prepare it, I am not going to make another one so big as this one; because through my faith, it took me half a year to finish it, so long that I don't want any more such burdens, given the old age that aggravates me.
Oh, I might also do something for my birthday, I don't really know. Dinner party? Anyone from Olympia going to be available then?
