Summary: You could call it a fairy tale, but as you know, it doesn't have a happy ending. Still ( Read more... )

Very good. But of course, many of the original fairy tales didn't have happy endings. The woodsman was added to Red Riding Hood in a later version. Sleeping Beauty was a sex toy in all of the early versions.

Fairy tales can be very dark indeed.

Heh. Yeah, don't believe anything you see on Disney. The folk tales that fairy tales came from were full of sex and violence. According to Jack Zipes, the original fairy tales were mostly "edited" (written) by the same group that writes fanfic today: educated young women who don't have families yet. If you want an idea of what they look like, scan down any fanfiction archive list.

oh, *ouch*. So very, very, well done. The simple, blunt format just emphasises it.

Thank you very much. I love the fairy tale format, but this one just wrote itself.

The tone of this is amazing, it really is like a fractured fairy tale all that's happened to him so far. As well as seriously, people forget how young Ianto is and that he was one of the twenty-seven T1 survivors which would mess a person up but this really touches on it. Heartbreaking in its simplicity but the narrative is perfect in its descriptions.

Thanks!
Were there really 27?
Ianto really is just a baby. *huggles him* He's trying to be so brave, all the time.
