Update on Dave!
Hey LJ,
DLJ's Dave is back! I've got a lot of fun and exciting news for you all. Let's get right down to it.
1) Baby is not here yet. She's not due until Aug 2nd, but Kelly and I are hoping for an earlier arrival, because she has an uber-rough summer to be carrying our little girl. So, fingers and everything are crossed for her soonish appearance.
2) The Michigan Ren Faire starts up in just a few weeks. Can't wait to get out there with Jamie and Paul and make some people laugh.
3) The biggest mostest funnest excitingest news is that I've actually taken the plunge and with the help of my wifey's best friend and maid of honor at our wedding who just happens to work at a publishing house and has walked me through the process of getting a novel self-published to sell at the faires to my Rogue Blades fans. The name of the novel is "The Rogue Blades" by me. It's the origin story of how the Rogue Blades met and got together set in the fantasy setting of a ren-faire world. I have included several of my friends from years gone by. Here's the back cover text to see if it whets your appetite.
"The realm of Queen Arianna is a place of beauty and peace. She rules with gentility, love and a velvet glove and is beloved of her people. Amidst the tranquility of her reign, there is breed of men, warriors and pirates, knights and knaves, that engage in back alley duels.
These are the "Rogue Blades".
They battle for the entertainment of the masses and for the coins that they throw. The masses, bored by the peaceful reign of Arianna, crave the clashing of weapons, the ringing of swords, and the spilling of blood.
Disturbed by the violent blood sport that is staining her reign, the Queen has ordered her Royal Guard to put an end to these contests.
In the dueling world, Dave the Knave, self proclaimed greatest swordsman that has ever lived, hears about the growing fame of one Sir James the Great Knight, seconded by the faithful Squire Paul. Dave believes that they are on a collision path headed for a battle of epic proportions. Will they meet before the Royal Guard bring an end to the street duels or is there something even more ominous in store for everyone?"
I'm also going to change my profile pic to the front cover of the book.
I am so ridiculously excited about this. I have been putting up notices on FB and I already have over a hundred reserved copies. At this rate I will need to reorder before MiRF is done. And that makes me ridiculously happy. Anywho, if you are interested you too could order one of these novels... which I now call "Knovels". They are going to be about $10 plus shipping if I need to mail it to you. Just let me know if you are interested. I didn't want my LJ friends to miss out on DLJ's Dave actually putting himself out there. You guys have always been so supportive and wonderful to me.
Anywho, that's about it for now. I've got to start working on another project before I lose momentum.
