So went to see Star Trek last night. It was fooking awesome!!
I was never a *huge* trek fan, much less the original, but I found myself loving all the 'old school' references and lines. Dammit Jim!! etc.
I didn't look up the film before so much of the cast was an unexpected treat.
Karl Urban(lotr, doom) was AMAZING as McCoy
Simon Pegg (Shaun of the dead) as Scotie, omg!
I lol'ed at the milf guy (asian guy in Harold and Kumar) as Sulu, but he was good.
Kirk guy was good, too.
they even seemed to do an homage to the 'fight music'
And of course Sylar as Spock. :) I kept waiting for him to tk someone's head open. lol
Everything about the movie was solid, imo. Plot, characters, connection w/ the original, action was great.
Much wootage.
