fucking failed
Went to the dmv today at 10 to take my drivers test. Fill out form wait wait wait. I'm then told to get into the car and wait some more. While I'm sitting there I'm feeling really confident I will pass with out any trouble at all. The fact that I've been insured for and testing in a car I've driven in only once didn't seem to phase me. Its your basic crappy 1990 "white" ford escort. Well the lady finally shows up and starts checking the car and before she can even get in I fail. Why? because the horn doesn't work... Just my "luck" she has an opening at one telling me I have to get the horn fixed by 1 or come back and pay for another test.
So driving to the ford auto parts store and my dad and I get the car into the shop and they start working on it while some random person takes us home.
12.30 we go back with the van leave it at the shop and take the fixed ford back to the dmv.
So we get back just in time so I can take my drive test. Waiting for the instructor I look at the list of actions that are grounds for immidate failure... examples are: not scraping or jumping onto the curb when pulling over (practiced that got that down even with the damn ford that doesn't have a right side view mirror!) stoping traffic (hmmm so going to slow is bad) almost running into a pedestrain or to the point were the instructor has to instruct you to stop. (common sense). Well the test starts and I'm doing what every normal driver would do things are looking good, hooray my day turned out good after all. WRONG!
When making a left turn I waited for oncoming traffic then after doing a shit job of looking I start turning left when pedestrians begin to cross the road. The instructor says stop. I stop.
FUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't run anyone over. I stoped when I saw them but I knew right then the test was over. She didn't say anything, we kept going for about another 5 minutes. We pull back in and she tells me I failed. No licence.. and now expired permit.. and 28 days until I can take the test again.
The day didn't get better, because of course my dad expected me to get the licence so I could drive him to the van and he could drive it home. But now there was only one driver and and angry dad who tried to get me to drive the ford home by myself with no licence or permit.... hmmm I'm sure if I get caught driving the ford like that they'd give me my licence right away
Then theres yelling and anger and insults to eachothers driving and luckly thats where the shit pile ends.
