So, I have recently taken it upon myself to go through tons and tons of manga senselessly on OneManga.
I'm starting from the top and working my way down... mostly looking for the elements I enjoy in manga, which includes the genres of Action, Fantasy, Comedy. There are a lot of other genres involved, since those categories are pretty broad.
Elements that I'm avoiding are... Shoujo, Romantic-drama-type things, Ultra cutesy art, Ecchi (Well, GetBackers was an exception), and sob stories. I am excluding the things that I've already read up to this point... So I'll probably be skipping a lot of the series I already know I like. I will try to make mention of them if anyone wants to check them out, though... XD
Going down the list slowly but surely... and yes, I'm sorta judging a book by its cover when I choose to read. Generally my selections are made after I read the little summary and I skim through a few pages.

+C Sword and Cornett
If you like: MMORPGs and like some slashy action between lots of the characters. The Art is a little cutesy, but it wasn't overwhelming for me. I think the story is okay, lots of treachery--and there is a pretty clear line between "bad and good" except for one character, but the mangaka seems to do a good job of setting up the world they live in...also gave me a bit of an Avatar vibe with the forest people. Kinda also reminds me of a BL game or something. The main character is a prince, who's third in line to the throne, who gets wrapped up in some trouble after overhearing a conspiracy the Elders of the kingdom are cooking up. Be wary of a bit of crossdressing and girly-guys. XD
1/2 Prince
I read this a while ago... Uh... Based on MMOs. Another pretty girly manga to read, I guess. The main character is a girl whose avatar is a guy by some twist of fate--there are more sequences in game than out, but more out of game than .Hack. The art is decent, and the story line is pretty much a typical MMO-type story with some romance thrown in. It's a pretty humorous manga (when is gender-bending not fun?), but be wary of the annoying girly-man! (He's okay in some sequences, I guess XD)

Air Gear
Rollerblading to the extreme. Copious amounts of Ecchi, with a little slash-action between some pretty damn gay guys. There's probably a lot of Hentai that comes out of this series...but I wouldn't know. I only know about the yaoi...and there's a pretty good amount of it. >.>... Oh!Great's art is simply amazing. I do like this series but I sorta fell out of it, probably from sheer laziness. Gets pretty crazy toward the more recent chapters.
Akaboshi - Ibun Suikoden
Based in China, based on some legendary bandits. It probably doesn't sound too exciting when I describe it like that, but... I found this series to be very SHONEN and have a rather fun amount of humor. The art is very good--the story line is basically about collecting people to rise up against the government, which is portrayed as absolutely evil. What is it with those evil governments? Well, this time, they're literally demonized. The fighting is pretty cool, lots of flashy moves and weapon swinging. I definitely enjoyed the humor in this series~
Akuma Bengoshi Kurabara
This is a oneshot, or a first attempt at the actual series: Defense Devil, which I will mention later on when I actually get to D. I do recommend the series in general--the stories can be like oneshots toward the beginning--much like the jobs Ban and Ginji get in Get Backers. I liked the art a lot and the stories are pretty fun--I guess it has a bit of an element of Mystery?
Alive- The Final Evolution
Read this before, just a quick recc, I guess. Art is nice, story is nice, a bit of a psychological....oh, I must accept that my best friend has turned on me type thing. I find the villains more interesting this time around--they're not wholly mysterious like in some other series. I think one of the most interesting elements in a story is the portrayal of the villains--so I did enjoy this series.
Angel Densetsu
Don't let the horrible art turn you away from this manga. I've got to say, I've laughed SOOO much reading this. The Lackeys get a bit annoying with random babbling sometimes, but... the situations that the mangaka put them in... This person must be a sadist. It's just too funny! Okay, the art is actually decent, well, obviously, except for the main character, who is a honest and purehearted man with a TERRIBLE face. If you like Martial arts, comedy, TONS of horrible misunderstandings that'll make you laugh, then this manga is definitely worth checking out. If you are more a fan of the shoujo-idealization and pretty-boy type manga....you might not like this for the sheer horrid ugliness of the main character's face. But it's just hilarious... you should check it out anyway!
Ao no Exocist
A little gory... All I remember is someones fingers getting pulled off... err.. Anyway. The Art is very nice in this manga--the main character is the son of Satan, but he wants to be an exorcist after, well... you'll see what happens. He has a twin brother as well, but his twin doesn't have any demonic abilities... but those are kinda balanced out by his skill as.... *censors spoilers.* Overall a fun story to read. Very action oriented with demons and all kind of strange characters with different agendas. Not too much slashiness--so pretty Shonen, though the art might convince you otherwise. XD
