Hey folks! you should all attend these....
Winnipeg Copwatch is having two upcoming events to raise funds for
equipment in order to patrol (including video cameras, walkie talkies, and a police scanner)
and to send individuals to the Copwatch
conference in Berkeley California. There are six volunteers making the
trip to Berkeley to foster relationships with the numerous other
Copwatch groups around the United States and learn from well
established community-led groups such as Berkeley Copwatch.
Come join us on Sunday June 17th (bring a dad if you want to) at 6pm at the Mondragon (91 Albert
St) for a delicious vegan dinner and a super-tasty vegan dessert.
There will be lasagna, garlic toast, salad and dessert. We are asking
for $10-20 sliding scale or for the donation of much needed equipment listed above. There will also be a silent auction with
prizes donated from various local businesses.
Then on Saturday June 23rd head on up to the Rudolf Rocker Cultural Centre
located on the 3rd floor of 91 Albert st for a screening of
"These Streets are Watching" a Copwatch documentary. Entrance is by
donation, or you can donate some much needed equipment (such as video
cameras, cell phones, walkie talkies, still cameras, police scanners,
etc.)
Our next meeting is on Wednesday, June 13 at 7:00pm at Mondragon (91 Albert Street), if you are interested in attending.
