You would post this when I'm halfway through reading your Merlin story because I've finally seen enough of Season 1 to not fear spoilage.

Still... it's a tiny story and it's Sherlock, so I figured, "What's the harm?" Right? Right. Now I want to rewatch all of Sherlock.

*coughs* Anyhoo, obviously, loved it. ^_^ And I see why you were having issues with so much of it being flashback, but this set-up worked beautifully. I love how you managed to keep so much of the flavor and feel of the actual show and your characterizations, as always, are spot-on. And you've captured John's voice perfectly, too. (Have I mentioned how I adored John's half-distracted, mumbliness? Because I do. *_*)

Possibly favorite line of the whole thing?

“Don’t get sloppy just to spite me,” Mycroft hissed suddenly."

*snerts* I love how Mycroft called him out there and insulted him all in one blow. Brilliant. ^_^ I just love Mycroft, period. I also loved how you used him here. The Under-Secretary/Secretary thing was fabulous -- especially as it shows that Mycroft doesn't bother to hide his manipulative nature from Sherlock or from John, proving that in his head, at least, John is truly Sherlock's "plus one". ^_______^ AW!

And the end!! The end was so sweet! I melted. ^_^ I totally melted.

Loved. This.

(P.S. -- I know we have ratings disagreements all the time, but, uh... I hate to burst your bubble, but if there are hands down pants, it's rated 'R'. So, I think you can call that one how you were tempted to. ^_~)

I LOVE JOHN. I didn't actually know i loved Mycroft until I wrote this.

(I don't know that I agree with that. Hands down pants should not automatically = R. It's not a graphic description - i mean, that bit is 3 sentences long! I don't even directly reference genetalia! - and could easily not be cut for a PG-13 movie, imo, at least not if one of the characters was a different gender. I don't think it would really be misrepresentation to give it an R label either though, at least not in the world of fanfiction.)
