I officially hate Windows, I just want everyone to know that.
After Windows automatically updated my computer, then defied my user
settings by not only installing the updates without me giving it
permission to but then restarting my computer making me lose a decent
volume of work, I found that none of my programs could open without
immediately crashing. I tried updating, but given that all my web
browsers were suddenly useless I was fucked (oh, and it WASN'T a virus;
I keep my shit up to date and constantly scanning in the
background).. I reformated the entire hard drive, then
reinstalled Windows XP Professional, at which point I was informed by
Microsoft that I needed to download over 75 security updates.
That's fucking ridiculous. Then, after all that it made me
install Service Pack 2, which, after exploring I found contained
fiftysome ADDITIONAL security updates. After all that I thought
I'd be good, I mean with 125 security updates and hours spend updating
everything else things should run smoothly. Fuck no, that's be
too simple. Turns out my computer likes to crash when Internet
Explorer tries to save a file to disk. Fucking awesome. So
now I've officially switched to Firefox and I've had absolutely no
problems. But this is still bullshit that I have to work around
problems on my own computer. It should just work correctly, the
philosophy is that simple. See the graphic below for a visual

Oh, and if you think this is just a Mac whore rant that can just be blown off, lemme throw one more pisser your way. You know Windows Vista, the new operating system (your first REAL update in about five years)? It was released to testers about a week ago for evaluation. Granted it's in beta form, but it's supposed to represent the majority of the final functions. Microsoft has been touting how much more secure this system will be, and after ripping off MacOSX's visual styles and search function, it seems that that's where the stolen ideas end. The system is anywhere from being secure. Less than a week after being released the first virus has ALREADY hit the system. Way to go Windows. You're number 1.
