Harry Potter and the ANTICIPATION OF FEAR

Mar 30, 2009 15:26

Last Friday, I found myself enjoying a lazy evening shopping with kevinexx , mightymouse and siaopak . We even bumped into swimz and z_t1980

Dinner was settled opposite Central, just outside this Free-For-All meat shop.
AND..it was here we chatted about our fear of heights and roller coaster rides!
At the table, we were unanimous about our fears with rides penetrating dark tunnels as we could not anticipate the next turn. Same goes for rides moving in the backward direction.

Today, while sharing this with a lunch khaki, a different perspective came around; that if we cannot anticipate what is to come, it would not be as terrible as to be left hanging in mid-air fully aware of the drop that is to follow.

And so..

THE ANTICIPATION OF FEAR
IS WORSE THAN FEAR ITSELF.

Hmmm..I am undecided on this one.
