Just a little birthday ficlet for burned_phoenix, whose birthday was a little over two weeks ago. Happy belated birthday hon!

Kara pushed his arm off her hip then wiped the sweat out of her eyes as she climbed out of bed.
"C'mon Kara, stay here," Zak pouted softly.
"Nuh uh," she said quickly, looking back and giving him a flirty smile. "Time to take a shower and get moving."
Zak looked at the clock. "There's plenty of time before you have to get ready for class. What's the rush?" He rose and walked over to stand behind her, wrapping his arms around her middle and putting his head on her shoulder.
"No rush." She bit her lip and tried to extricate herself from his embrace.
"Kara, hon, you're always running away so quickly. You never stay in bed and just cuddle with me."
"Maybe I'm just not the cuddling type."
"Everyone's the cuddling type," he said, frowning in mock anger. "The fact that you're always running away makes me think maybe you don't really like me - you just want me for the sex."
"That's not true," she said hastily. "I wouldn't spend so much time with you if I wasn't interested in more than just sex."
"So what are you afraid of then?" he asked softly, nuzzling her ear. "You know I love you."
Kara spun around to face him, eyes wide and dark. "That's exactly what I'm afraid of."
He tightened his arms around her, frowning for real as she pushed against them. "What, you're afraid I don't love you?"
"No," she whispered. "That you do."
