An epilogue to "Sarnia 2: Return of Amelia"

With more heartstring-plucking, amusing work scenarios, tears, and epic battles than the first!

Oh yes, there will be battles of epic proportions.

I went to Sarnia on Wednesday for my Startek interview. Startek is an inbound call centre for T-Mobile, and the branch they were hiring for is business something-or-other.So businesses that are set up with T-Mobile call us regarding their phones and whatnot.Anyways.I got there and there were 2 other girls waiting,so we chatted for a bit then were taken into a room with some computers for our assessments. After a short while, another girl and a guy came in and we got started. After the assessments,we went on a tour.It looks like a really fun place to work- every month they have a theme day (apparently we missed Pirate day) and it seems pretty laid-back.After the tour,we went back to the computer room and watched a mini presentation (after 90 days we get full benefits and 40 hours paid leave to be taken whenever we want,so theres a full weeks paid vacation right there if we want it),then were told we would hear if we got the job the next day.But 2nd interview at Startek pretty much means youre hired,so...yeah.
Anyways, after that I went to this apartment building I had an appointment for a viewing at,and as is my luck, the on-site manager wasnt home, despite my having set up an appointment. So awesome.
Then I went for lunch with my friend Alex, who is pretty rockin. After lunch we wandered the mall for a bit, then WalMart, then I took him home. After that,I met with my friend Lee at a Coffee Lodge for what was supposed to be a quick coffee. 4 and a half hours later,we realize what time it is.Oops.
Lee had said before that if I cant find a place to live in Sarnia on my own, I can stay with him for as long as I need to,which was really sweet of him.I told him about the people earlier, just venting, and he offered again. So after our drinks, which we had finished ages ago,I followed him to his place where he gave me a tour and we talked about when I could "move in." After that,I went home.
And slept like a log.
Which was awesome because I havent been sleeping well lately.Who knows why.

Then today,I woke up around 1130,went to the bathroom, turned the dryer on,and went back to sleep for an hour. Woke up to my phone going off,but I missed it.The house phone rang after that, and it was Startek offering me the job.Excellent.
Took a shower, caught up on Facebook, QC, MLIA, then went to the bank for some direct deposit forms and had a nice chat with my teller who somehow remembered that I had moved to Ireland? Pretty awesome; then I was off to Brews & Cues to hand in my 2 weeks notice after having worked there for....4 days. They understood that it was a better offer even though Id be getting nearly ft hours with them, and they were glad Id be able to work for the next 2 weeks, thus not screwing them over 100%.So thats pretty decent. Ill have some extra cash flow to the tune of about $400+ or so,which is nice. Then all I have to do is wait for my 1st check with Startek and Ill have enough for first/last at a place.(sidenote:the apartment Id looked at was offering a rental incentive of one month free, and other places were more under the table with rent,so they didnt require it either)
Which would be nice, since Lee and I have a lot in common,a lot of common interests, hes really sweet, there was never an awkward pause or really any pauses in that 4+ hours, and hes pretty cute.So I should probably try and keep the flirting to a minimum while staying at his place. SIGH LIFE IS SOOo HARD OMGZ. lawl.

Oh,and speaking of boys, until I move to Sarnia Im "casually seeing" James Herdman.Thats right, fellow former Sabres.Welcome back to grade 9.

Final note, Tasha texted me while I was out with Lee just to say hi. Im not quite sure how I feel about that.I mean, sure we can be friends again, but I have a feeling the whole apartment thing will sort of hang over our heads for awhile. And I dont think we'll go back to being best friends.Shes always had Melinda, and Ive come to the realization that I trust Randy more than anyone and can talk to him about way more than anyone else, and he is genuinely my best friend.

So yeah, thats whats been happening lately.Wooooo.

work, sarnia, plans, boys
