a collections law firm calling itself meridian management solutions / brachfeld and associates has been harassing me over the phone regarding a debt that i purportedly owe to capital one. when i finally got the money together to pay them the amount that i did not dispute, they refused a bank check or money order and demanded that i give them access to my bank account to deduct the money directly. now, my mama didn't raise no dummy... and i know the kind of damage that an unscrupulous person can do with your bank account info and the last four digits of your social security number... so, being that i have no love or trust for bottom-feeding scumbags, i politely refused. since then, they have been blatantly harassing me, flagrantly violating the california fair debt collections act, leaving threatening and insulting messages on my cell phone despite being told not to call me, and even attempting to con my personal information out of me when i do pick up their calls.
