First Day of Third Grade

Aug 31, 2009 15:28

Hi everybody. Today was my first day of third grade. I was nervous and scared but I loved it a lot.

I got up very early - I was not ready for this early time. When I got up I rubbed my eyes and got out of bed. Still in my pj's I went downstairs. My Mom was making pancakes. The pancakes had chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. They were very good.

After I ate my breakfast I went to the bathroom to get dressed. You see, yesterday I had a bath and put my clothes there for the next day. I brushed my teeth and got all dressed. Right then my Mom came in and brushed my hair and put it in pigtail braids. Then we went into the kitchen and called Uncle Bo. He was sleeping. Sorry Uncle Bo!

Then it was time to go. We went down to my bus stop and when we were walking down the park stairs we met two of my friends, Zoey and Emmy. We went down all the way together and the bus was there. We got on and sat down. When we were at school the bus dropped us off and I walked to my class. My teacher greeted me and I went in with my backpack and my coat still on because we didn't know where our cubbies were.

When all of us were there my teacher told us what to do. My teacher's name is Ms. Benham. When she told us what to do she told us what ALL the kids names were, we had name tags as well. When we got used to everybody Ms. Benham told us we were going to Spanish. I don't know why we learn the language in spanish class but we only learn games in German class.

After Spanish we went back to our class. We made something so fun. We made a time capsule! After we made the time capsule Ms. Benham said "Now we are going to music." When we got to music it was a little different from last year. We sat in a rainbow instead of in rows. We only needed four stars to get on the star chart. You see, if we get ALL the stars on the star chart we get a free day. When we were done with music we went back to class.

We talked some more about rules. Listen. Learn. Have fun. Be good to others. That's all I can remember. (I said this but I said it to Mom and she wrote it down without my permission!) I don't want to talk about rules.

We had snack. I had popcorn craziness. Ms. Benham said "Only healthy snacks" but I think popcorn is healthy. After snack we did some more activities but I cannot remember them. When we were done with the activities we went to recess and then we went to lunch. The first and second graders have lunch when we have recess and then we have lunch while they have recess. For lunch I had chicken drummies. It's chicken in the shape of drum sticks with no bones and it doesn't have bread like a nugget. I also had applesauce and milk and a cookie and an oreo. The cookie came with my lunch. The oreo was from one of my friends.

After lunch we went back to our room and it was pretty much time to get ready to leave. When we got all ready my teacher made sure we all knew what we were doing. I got on my bus and sat next to one of my greatest friends, Sara. We talked and talked until it was my stop and I got off. Then I talked to my friends Zoey and Emmy.

When we got to the top of the park stairs Zoey said to my Mom, "I have two paragraphs of homework on the very first day. Isn't that a bummer. When I do all of my homework I'll call and see if Zoe can go to the park." You see, the park is right next to our bus stop. Then I was eating some grapes and drinking Mom's water. The funny thing is that I started this journal too. It's a circle! Now you can start all over.
