Grad School again
I got a confirmation today that I was nominated for a University Merit Fellowship at UNC- Chapel Hill and that I won't have to confirm my acceptance (or decline) of their offer until mid-April. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read their paperwork at first and saw that they require notification within 3 weeks of the date of the letter (which was Feb. 4). That would have meant that, besides the fact that I didn't receive the letter until Feb. 10, I would have had to confirm:
1. before knowing about financial aid at all, much less whether I received a scholarship, and
2. before the deadline to apply for the program (March 1).
Still no word from UMass or Harvard.
