Who's idea was it to have PLASTIC pin hold the speedo gear in place? Especially when it holds in parts which are all metal and move against it.
The person who thought it was a good idea should be ashamed of themself. It took only 4 turns of the spander before I had apparently broke the little guy and found myself turning the speedo cable and somehow disassembling the entire gear unit. Little pieces like washers, speedo gears and bushings were all falling out.
I will take photos, didn't have time today after figuring out where to stash the now useless cable.(Couldn't really unplug it. It would have taken me an hour or so to get to the gauges.)
Good thing for me, it's only a $30 part. It was very weird to be going down the freeway with the tach up at 7k and speedometer down at 0.
