Ok, Justin, you want an update? Here you go:
1. Well, I went to bed last night and nar flake of snow to be seen; I woke up this morning and the ground was covered. Rio, I understand what you were saying about the traffic: I just got back from a trip to Family Mart and the vehicles were going 25-30 Km/h, MAX! And normally it's 3 times that speed. And there's not even any snow on the roads! And for the first time ever I saw tires wrapped in rope. Yep, rope. Obviously we have all seen studded tires, even chains on particularly big tires, but this was the yellow rope everyone's father has stockpiles of from Canadian Tire. That kind of yellow rope. Funny.
2. I went to a music show last night near Shinsaibashi, in downtown Osaka. First of all, Osaka keeps getting crazier and crazier each time I go there. Like I said before, it's like Tokyo, but on a slighter smaller scale. Anyway, the show was crazy, too. A friend of mine is a "singer" in a band called "From Beyond". The other 3 bands playing were "Eye" (or "I", not sure which) "Nightmare" and "Warhead". Guess what kind of music they were playing! My ears are still ringing and probably will be well into tomorrow.
3. Downloaded "A Christmas Story" yesterday. Easily my favourite X-Mas film (Christmas Vacation being a somewhat distant second). Started watching it this morning. What a great movie that is, with some hilarious script ("That son of a bitch would freeze up in the middle of summer on the equator!").
4. Got my ticket to Korea. I fly from Osaka on Wed, Dec 21 @ 5:15 p.m. and arrive in Seoul @ 7:10. My return flight leaves Seoul on Wednesday, Dec 28 @ 2:25 p.m. and arrives in Osaka @ 4:05. I'll be staying at Keith's place, which should be great fun. I'll be there for pretty much a week, which is a really nice time period. Any less and I wouldn't get to do/see as much as I would like, and any more me and Keith would probably have each other killed! Don't think I'll be able to make it down to Daegu, Rio. Might be able to catch up with Shane/John Luedee in Seoul. Will see.
5. My Japanese is coming along nicely. I haven't been studying as much lately as I would like, but I have a little free time coming up so I'll put that to good use. I bought a gas heater a few days ago and it is being delivered to my apartment today. A guy from the store phoned a few hours ago and explained to me that my heater would be delivered today between 2:00 and 5:00. That's the first Japanese phone call I have received that I actually understood what was being said. Every other call ends when I say "Sumimasen. Wakarimasen" (Sorry. I don't understand). So it's good to see my Japanese study is paying off a little anyway.
Soooo, that's my update. Time to go clean up the state I have made here in the apt. Rich, great fuckin tattoo man. Well done. How's that, Justin?
