yesterday we spent a very relaxing day at Playa Hermosa...
we woke up, had breakfast at the hotel, did some internetting, and then headed for the beach via a trip to supermarket, where we purchased orange juice and batteries for the camera
at the beach, we settled at a picnic table, enjoyed the ocean view, took some pictures, and watched some guy trying to knock coconuts off a coconut tree...at one point, i turned my head and saw an iguana going down a tree right next to our picnic table -- i cannot say i was thrilled...the iguana went all the way down, crossed the path, grabbed some fruit lying on the ground, and went up another tree, posing for Scott's camera once in a while...then we saw another iguana, and then another, and then another one, at which point i was ready to change our location on the beach
we moved our stuff closer to the water and went in for a dip -- it was nice, but the waves were pretty strong, so we didn't stay in the water for very long...after drying a bit, we went to a nearby cafe and had some juice and snacks...this is where a very stubborn bird snagged a chip off of Scott's plate and immediately took off with her newly acquired treasure
soon afterwards we slowly started in the direction of our hotel -- it was already close to 4 o'clock anyway...back at the hotel, for some reason, the pool looked particularly inviting, so we spent the next half hour in the pool and then another hour or so drying and reading by the pool
the evening ended with dinner at the hotel accompanied by some live music: the duo (acoustic guitar plus vocals) was really good, but the band that joined them later wasn't bad either -- just a bit too much base and not a very good keyboard for my taste
