Excruciating pain seared own her back as she leaned over in the plus bed, which she laid in before. She knew it wasn’t from the fresh beatings she had received that night. No, she had gotten used to that, but this was different. A gasp slowly escaped from her lips as she slipped off the bed and on her side. Clenching her eyes tightly she felt along ( Read more... )

Walking along the dark sidewalk that very same night, he slowed his pace as he neared a particular alleyway, turning his head to looked around the corner. He felt something--a familiar youki that had been exhausted to no end, almost burnt out.

Upon walking into the alleyway, he noticed the many animals that gathered, some of them fleeing as he approached the girl that was lying in a heap behind the rather repulsive trash cans.

Pausing for a moment to recognize the girl, he found himself slowly kneeling down next to her, paying the animals no notice even when they gave him a vicious look to back off. He wasn't going to do anything... nothing to harm this girl.

"You suffer quite a lot, child. I know how it feels..." he whispered, though mostly under his breath as he gently lifted the neko girl up into his arms, and carried her out of the alleyway, breaking into a flit as he headed somewhere a little nicer--an alleyway, for such a tormented child was not at all suitable.

Her once brown and white hair had fully turned white when he had arrived, cut short above her sholders. White fox ears had replaced the once black cat ears and instead of a black cat tail it was now a white fox tail aswell. Shineing steel wings wrapped around her form, blood running down then and from where they had emerged from her back.

Slowly lavendar orbs opened to look at him, there appearing to be no pupil but just full color iris as she watched him. She listened to what he said, yet did not say anything and allowed him to pick her up. Her eyes began to close as she relaxed somewhat, trying to get over the pain from the wings that had emerged from her back.

Karasu continued to flit through the city,--not in the least bit surprised by her sudden transformation, though a bit amazed, whether he showed it or not--finally reaching the small woods on the outskirts. Stopping in a moonlit clearing, he gently set the girl down next to a small flowing stream, kneeling down next to her to look her over. "Beaten... no doubt." he whispered as he slowly began to tend to the girl's wounds, bandaging them up tightly with some of the material from his coat.

After cleaning and bandaging the girl up, he lifted her up again, walking over to rest her beneath a large willow tree covered in soft vines, nocturnal flowers in full bloom here and there. Placing her hands in her lap, he finally stood, taking another glance down at her before he walked back over towards the stream. It certainly was peaceful--for a place in the ningenkai.

Shallow breaths came from her as she sleep quietly, as all the changes that had happened to her a few hours or so ago seemed to fade away. White hair slowly faded away and was replaced by her normal long brown hair, as her fox ears and tail went back to their normal black cat ears and tail. Metallic wings stayed for the moment before they dissappeared aswell, a tattoo of them imprinted over her scarred back. The actual Kati had no idea what had happened.

[Sorry for the short post..>_>; I had no idea what to do..^^;]

[ No prob! XD I can work with this. *nod* ]

Karasu turned back to look at her again, watching as the strange phenomenon toik place. Smiling lightly under his mask, he watched as the girl slept.

"You have something that transcends far beyond a simple talent... I certainly hope that you use it wisely, child..." he whispered thoughtfully, the smile never leaving his face as he stepped back over to the girl and sat down next to her, watching after her for the remainder of the night...

Haveing not heard him, and no idea that she was being watched over she continued to sleep until the sun began to rise, to which she groaned and cringed, curseing inwardly at the brightness. "Stupid sun.." She seemed to mutter this quietly as she slowly opened her eyes and noticed him, jumping slightly and winceing as she did so. "What the..?" Black cat ears folded back as she forced herself to sit up, biteing her bottom lip so she wouldnt make any noises to show she was in pain.

Karasu lightly placed his hand on her shoulder, helping to steady her against the tree so that she could sit up a bit straighter, then quickly drew back, having a feeling that she probably wouldn't want him touching her to begin with.

"No need to be startled, child... I do not plan on bringinig any harm to you..." he said softly, as he leaned back against the tree again, also squinting against the morning sunlight.

"I suggest that you rest for a little while longer... give yourself some time to recover." he stated blankly. It was hard to tell what the crow youkai was really thinking.

[Sorry for delayed response..I...er...was..spending most of yesterday with..newly acquired boyfriend..^_^]

Her eyes closed tightly. memories comming back as he touched her shoulder and she stayed still. Leaning back slowly agaist the tree she nodded her head, not so worried about if he was going to attack her. Looking up at him she blinked, tilting her head to the side. "Why did you help me...?"

[ Ahhh... Always with the tough questions. lmao. XD And it's alright! Teehee. ]

Karasu paused for a moment, a bit surprised that the girl would ask that, for really, he himself didn't have enough of a particular reason--to him anyway.

The youkai chuckled softly, "... I suppose that I dislike seeing anyone suffer unless it's by my hand. Anyone else, if possibly crueler than myself, I find it ridiculous that one must suffer so much and not simply die afterwards. To suffer... I know what it is like." he replied quite casually for such a subject. Now suffering really didn't mean much to him at all... It was in the past--for now so he hoped.

Nodding her head to what he said she turned her gaze away from him, hand instictively going to the sword necklace which hung around her neck on a chain. Going quiet, she wasnt one that liked to talk much, but simply just sit there and not be acknowlaged by the human eye. Atleast thats what it felt like to her.

Cat tail swaying at her side, her ears flicked back for a moment, emotions not visible to him as she looked down, almost as if she was haveing an inside battle as her right eye twiched somewhat.

Karasu watched her from the corner of his eye, leaving her be for the time being. Whatever was wrong with her was unbeknownst to him, and was probably something that she had to fight with herself. Closing his eyes, he slowly crossed his arms across his chest as he sat just as quietly.
