It was simply the truth - he was like you. Spoke very little - though what he did say was...meaningful - didn't get along with Kuwabara, for the brief time they were together.
It was good to see him. Just as it is good to see you.
For the satisfaction of seeing and hearing your surprise, I will.
Where I come from, people coexist with various creatures named Pokemon that may be captured, trained, and used as vessels of power in battle. The stronger creatures you bear, the stronger you are yourself, and the more...opportunities that are available to you.
So how was it, Kurama? Did I shock you with the absurdity of my nature?
Let's see...before I found myself here, I had been living in a city called Rivelata, which has the unfortunate side effect of stripping all supernatural powers from its residents. They can be regained through training, of course, but there seems to be a sort of...cap on powers. A plateau that is significantly lower than the previous high.
I was quite convinced I would never again be able to make the shift into demon form, until I was struck by a...blood curse. It had the interesting side effect - in addition to driving me mad for a time - of forcing me into an odd...cat-demon hybrid form.
After that, I found it easier to make the shift, and... Well, I've been shifting back and forth at will ever since. Assuming the proper power levels, of course.
It seems I retain a bit of my old self every time I make the shift, though.
Tell me, is there a copy of me in your own?

Regardless of the worlds we hail from - it is good to see you again, Hiei.

Never mind, I don't need to know from you.

[said using something between sarcasm and a normal tone] How curious...
Hm. Like all the other Kuramas, however, I imagine you would find me quite different from the Hiei you knew if you heard about my world.

Why not tell me about it, then?

..."Makai". Demon? I suppose you're not human as well? [thinks: Why am I surprised?]

It's a long story.

...There's nothing else to do here, is there? [implying that Kurama should tell it]
