For those of you who don't already know, in addition to my day-job, I am an independent consultant for a company called Creative Memories. Tonight I am going to the house of one of my team mates to all sit around in a giant, well-lit room and work together on our photographs, stories and catch up on each others' lives. I have been helping my father create a digital album for his recent trip to Israel: I didn't know, but in his mind it is a pilgrimage that all little old Jewish men must take. I am not close to my father, we have never seen eye-to-eye, but the album has brought us closer - for a time - and I have been relishing asking him questions and listening to his stories about why the trip was important to him. It almost makes him seem like a "real" dad.
In addition to my album work being fun from a design standpoint, "scrapbooking" (physical or digital) has been proven to enhance brain function and memory by stimulating the memory centers, emotions, etc. of the human brain. A few years back when the company partnered with the Alzheimer's Association, I learned a lot about using photo albums as therapy devices for Alzheimer's sufferers and their families.
Now we are partnering with the Make a Wish foundation to give very sick individuals memories that they can...literally...live for. I sell lifetime guaranteed, acid & lignin free scrapbooking supplies...and also digital album making software. I teach classes on preserving photos and stories. The mission of the company is to Preserve the Past, Enrich the Present, and Inspire hope for the Future.
I love what I do, and I am always looking for new people to share it with, so if you, or anyone you know needs to organize, scrapbook, share or in any way manage a photo project, please have them contact me!

Yvette
