I did a bad thing on Wednesday. On my way out of town I stopped for gasoline. Unfortunately, they had a special deal: buy a tank of gasoline, get a free package of Pop Tarts. Now these things are not actually food to begin with. If you add the fact that I have Celiac disease, then it adds up to some serious self-harming behavior. I ate two Pop Tarts, much to my shame and the chagrin of my intestinal tract. Add to that overeating the usual Thanksgiving foods and I’m hurting. I have a red rash all around my middle and down one leg. I keep trying to scratch it so that no one will notice.
I’m trying to be good today. Last night I made a big batch of my Swiss Detox Soup:
Swiss Detox Soup
Ingredients:
1 c. Carrots
1 c. Celery
1 c. Green beans
1 c. Zuchini
1 small red potato
1 onion
3 liters of distilled water
Preparation:
Chop everything into small pieces, place them into the pot to boil. When the water is boiling, lower the heat and keep the soup on the oven for about twenty minutes. Serve one cup of broth with a cup of oatmeal and one cup of green tea for breakfast. Serve one cup of the vegetables with one cup of broth for lunch along with a plate of steamed veggies. There is a whole diet associated with this, but I won't bore you with the details. (I add a teaspoon of salt because its too bland)
