I find the reason that I don't much like the concept of a pop song because of how it presents that difficult notion of love. Every time they say essentially that you can rely on me for anything, and love is only supposed to be two people propped haphazardly against one another. What if a person has never spent a second of their life crying on someone else's shoulder? What if they've taught themselves to be completely self-sufficient? I'm more in the partnership for life drift than being reliant on anyone. I can't bring myself to the point where I absolutely can't live without something. Might change someday, but for now, that's my deal.
