Trying to be more "300" than "Clash of the Titans (2010)" it seems
Well, if you read this spot a lot, you'll know that I love sword and sandal flicks and I like the films of Tarsem Singh (all two of them so far.) So when it was announced that he was doing a loose adaptation of the Theseus myth, I was intrigued. So now, we finally get a "first look" at some footage for Singh's The Immortals . . .
To be totally honest, some of that footage makes it look pretty darn good. Yet, a lot of it makes it look really crappy. I'm hoping that it's just based off a non-finalized version of the film (or the person compiling that footage is just really bad at that), because it looks like it needs some post-production work (even though it was done shooting a while ago.)
Plus, that magic bow and arrow makes me think of Lucio " Zombi 2/Zombie" Fulci's amazingly gawdawful Conquest.
I thought Theseus had found a sword, shield and pair of sandals under that rock? Not a bow.
Oh well . . . I'll still go see it.
